Spring is here! Pending any awful pranks from Mother Nature, we will start being regulars at the park very soon. While haven’t come close to listing all the wonderful parks the Valley offers, here are 15 worth visiting this year. If we missed your favorite, leave it in the comments.
Alonzo Park (Hortonville Lion’s Club) – 310 E Main St., Hortonville – 11.5 acre park with a playground, sandboxes, volleyball & horseshoe pits, & a nature trail.
Appleton Memorial Park – 1620 East Witzke Boulevard, Appleton – This scenic park offers impressive ADA Accessible playground, picnic area, baseball/softball/soccer fields, and walking/biking trails.
City Park – 500 East Franklin Street, Appleton – Awesome park with a great playground. Ample picnic space, walking trails, and tennis courts.
Derks Park – 3220 East Guyette Street, Appleton – Great playground with the rubber surface. Sometimes the kiddos get as much enjoyment walking on the rubber surface as they do the equipment! Derks Park also offers a picnic area as well as walking/biking areas.
Doyle Park – 100 Van Buren St., Little Chute – Prime for a summertime visit as it boasts a pool & water slide. Further, Doyle Park offers a playground, sand volleyball court, basketball courts, ball diamonds, batting cage, tennis courts, picnic areas, and fishing.
Erb Park – *SHOULD RE-OPEN JULY 2017* – 1800 North Morrison Street, Appleton – Offers a picnic area, playground, tennis and basketball courts, horseshoes, a NEW pool coming soon!
Fritse Park – 899 North Lake Street, Neenah – 15+ acre park located on the western shore of Little Lake Butte des Morts. A great playground area as well as a boat launch & picnic tables/grills. It is also a part of the Fox Cities Trestle/Friendship trail connecting the Village of Fox Crossing to the City of Menasha. Beautiful!
Jennerjohn Park – W6750 Rickey Lane, Greenville – This park offers fun year-round. Great playground for the kiddos in non-winter months. You’ll also find grills, tennis courts, and more. Heritage fountain makes a beautiful backdrop for photos.
Linwood Park – 401 North Douglas Street – Great playground, picnic tables, tennis courts (pickleball), baseball/softball field, basketball court.
Peabody Park – 601 North Green Bay Road, Appleton – Gorgeous setting along the Fox River. Playground, picnic area, and beautiful walking/biking trail.
Pierce Park – 1035 West Prospect Avenue, Appleton – You will find a large playground area, 3 tennis courts, a basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, disc golf, and walking trails at Pierce Park.
Riverside Park – 500 E Washington, Neenah – Nearly 20 acres of of beauty and fun along the Fox River. Known for its rocket ship playground, kids’ imaginations run wild while there. Be sure to take in the concert during the summer.
Summit Park – 2423 N. Summit St., Appleton – Offers a playground, 2 tennis courts and a basketball court.
Telulah Park – 1300 East Newberry Street, Appleton – Great if you have a skateboarder in the family. Also offers a playground, soccer & baseball/softball fields, disc golf course, & biking/walking paths.
Wanick Choute Park – Great playground for kids of all ages. Offers 2 playgrounds, 4 soccer fields, basketball court, and 2 tennis courts. A splash pad is also available in summer.
