Meet Your Green Bay Area Writing Team
Monica was born and raised in the Green Bay area, and has stayed here most of her adult life with just a short three year stint in Sheboygan. After high school, Monica attended cosmetology school in Appleton and has been in the hair industry for over 17 years. Her career has included managing 14 salons at one time, working as a national educator for world renowned Sexy Hair Products, and most recently as nit-picker extraordinaire as the owner of a lice treatment clinic in Green Bay called Nitorious B.U.G. LLC, while still maintaining her clientele and business as a stylist behind the chair at a local salon.
When not working at one of her businesses, Monica is wife to her husband Jason, and mom to three children: Reidar, Trinity and Roar. Their “Wolfpack” as she calls it, loves to travel and try crazy new foods, and have a goal of seeing all 50 states before graduation. While home, Monica enjoys crocheting and crafting, as well as serving as a Sunday school teacher, and of course cheering on the Packers! Monica’s mantra in life is “The best is yet to come” and she pushes the boundaries of this saying by taking on each new challenge in life as a potential door to a new opportunity.
Anne is a native of De Pere and graduate of St. Norbert College. She recently moved back to this area after living in Madison for seven years. Anne and her husband Nate fell in love with the Madison area but after having three kids in under two years, they decided it was time to be near family. She is a former first grade teacher turned stay-at-home mom and spends her days with her twin daughters (born January 2014) and son (November 2015). When she gets a moment to herself, she enjoys reading (things other than children’s books), organizing anything and everything, being outdoors, and sorting through all the photos she takes of her family.
Stacey is mom to three strong-willed, feisty girls, Octavia (Tater), and twins Adeline and June. Originally from Lincoln, NE, she called Pella, IA, Louisville, KY, and French Lick, IN home before settling down in rural Sobieski, WI. Though she spent most of her career as a Food and Beverage Manager, in 2012 she founded Eight Trees Company, LLC, to further her hobby of sewing.
While at home with newborn twins and a 2-year-old, Stacey began expanding Eight Trees Company in to what it is now, a business of whimsical handmade toys and keepsake Memory Animals. And as her girls grow, she watches, paying attention to everything they love the most, as they develop their unique personalities. Octavia loves to meet people, enjoys drawing, and has a curiosity for nature. Adeline loves to pretend, and is in the kitchen every day, helping her mom as the clock reaches each mealtime. June, youngest by an hour, is stubborn, full of energy, loves to sing, and can frequently be seen “all dressed up” in several layers of clothing. With a houseful of independent women, Stacey’s husband Dennis is grateful for his work away from home as an Audio Visual Engineer at Wild Blue Technologies in De Pere.
Beyond Eight Trees Company, Stacey is enjoying her time with Octavia as her Girl Scout Daisy Troop Leader, and looks forward to monthly meetings and pop-up shops with fellow Green Bay small businesses as a founding member of S.A.G.E. She still thoroughly enjoys cooking, and feels extremely spoiled to have a grillmaster husband to help with dinner. She enjoys frequent visits back to Pella, IA to visit her mom, brothers, sister-in-law, and nephews, and you can always find her with family the first weekend in May for Tulip Time. And although you might not find a perfectly polished house when you visit, the Burkhart family always welcomes anyone to their “forest”, because they feel blessed to call Wisconsin “home.”
Jolene grew up in Luxemburg, WI. After going to college in Stevens Point and working for a year in the Milwaukee area, she moved to De Pere, WI to get married, start a family, and pursue her career. Both the youngest of six, Jolene and her husband always wanted a big family. After struggling to get pregnant, their family was jump-started by having identical twin girls, Eden and Ellie, who are now 3. Not long after, they decided their life wasn’t crazy enough and had Jude, who is 1. Both she and her husband work full time, and Jolene owns her own company, www.howtoconcerts.com, planning large scale entertainment events across the country. Because she has to travel for work, Jolene has used a breast pump while flying, driving, walking and talking, and has the war stories to prove it. Her keys to success (aka survival) are the members of her support system, starting with her husband and extended family, and ending with good coffee and a sense of humor.

She and husband, Derick, have since completed their family with the addition of baby Elodie in May 2016. Amidst the hustle and bustle of raising two children under two, Nichelle makes time to bring zen to others as a part-time yoga instructor.
Nicki was born in Madison and raised just outside of the city on a dairy farm. She met her wonderful husband, Dan, while attending college at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and worked for seven years in Cardiac Rehabilitation. Nicki and Dan became proud parents in September 2012 when their spunky daughter, Elsie, was born. Their sweet baby, Charlotte, was born in May 2016. Following Charlotte’s arrival, Nicki and Dan moved to Green Bay so that Dan could take a job transfer and Nicki could become a full-time stay-at-home mom. In her free time, Nicki enjoys attempting pinterest projects, trying out new coffee shops, taking her labradoodle for walks, and exploring all Green Bay has to offer.
Stephanie was born and raised in the Green Bay area. After meeting her husband Tom at UWSP while earning a degree in elementary education, they returned to the area to start their family and careers. Stephanie has been blessed with two outgoing and entertaining children – Landon and Ava . Teaching third grade keeps her plenty busy during the school year but she couldn’t imagine doing anything else! When she’s not at school, Stephanie loves to read, cook (and pretend to be a Masterchef), spend time in Door Co with family and craft/DIY. Her favorite thing in the world is to take her kids to free adventures all around town (or find a great deal while shopping her with her mom!) Literacy is a true passion of Stephanie’s which inspired her to also start her own business with Usborne Books & More!

A native of Sheboygan, WI, she and her husband permanently moved to Green Bay in 2010 after the birth of their first daughter. Amy is in the middle of her second year of homeschooling, which often consists of distracting a crazy one- year-old while trying to teach lesson plans. Coffee is her best friend. Her family is currently searching for their dream country home where they plan to raise some animals and grow their own food. You might see her out with her family exploring new places in the area to run off energy. They often spend the summer looking for fun, nearby beaches and pools. Amy is also interested in learning creative ways to budget, coupon, and find easy, healthy recipes for her family of picky eaters.
Nichole is a thirty-something wife and mother currently living in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was however, born and raised in Texas and lived there until her early 20s. Nichole was a Combat Medic in the US Army and met a boy in her Advanced Training. They were inseparable from the day they met and she moved to the Midwest for love. Their story is a crazy one but it’s theirs and simply because of that, it’s obvs her favorite!
Nichole considers herself a Jack of Many Trades, yet Master of None. She works full time as a phlebotomist, and has a photography business. She loves to take pretty pictures and share love through a warm meal. Her schedule is always full and it makes her a little crazy sometimes but she covets all the relationships that have arose from the chaos.
Nichole’s biggest and greatest accomplishment was receiving the title of “Mother”. She and her husband, Jeremy, were triply blessed with handsome boys! Peyton John Michael, their oldest is 11, in the 6th grade, and probably smarter than her! Middle son, Piercen Rush is 7, in 1st grade and has the kindest heart! Their youngest Sir Pennington Matthews is 6 going on 16, he is loud and crazy!
She claims her house is always a mess, they are always coming or going and she and her husband barely talk about anything in the “Adult” category but she absolutely LOVES her life! And can’t wait to share it with you!
