We are Green Bay Area Mom.
This is our story.
It was a May 2016 day when Ruth read This Stage of Life? It’s Hard. from Austin Moms. She read it over and over again and realized a resource like this was missing in Green Bay and Appleton.
Green Bay Area Moms Blog was “born” on August 15, 2016. A small group of moms was on a mission to make Green Bay and Appleton more accessible to Moms!
In late 2018, Ruth decided it was time for a new season of life and began looking for a new owner. Local stay-at-home mom, Amanda, had recently found Green Bay Area Moms Blog on Facebook and felt compelled to take on this new adventure.
In February 2019, Amanda became the new owner of the Green Bay Area Moms Blog. Running a business is not something Amanda had done in the past, but she knew she could help make an impact in her community for other Moms just like her.
In July 2020, Green Bay Area Moms Blog became Green Bay Area Mom! The word “blog” didn’t accurately describe what Green Bay Area Mom was all about, so we updated our name, logo/look, and website to serve our community even better!
The need for a community and resources for moms in Green Bay & Appleton continues, and that’s why in January 2021, Jen joined Amanda as co-owners of Green Bay Area Mom.
Jen and Amanda knew that there was so much more that could be done for our communities and the best way to do it was together. Jen had been a part of Green Bay Area Mom since the beginning, so she had been through all the changes from day 1. She knew where GBAM had been and they dreamed where it could go together.
GBAM has grown tremendously. Not only is there a community Facebook group, but we also have a Book Club, we run monthly play dates, and we host incredible events year-round (Bloom, Mama’s Night, Cookies with Santa). We have also been able to build a team of moms, offering them an income and the flexibility to do it on their time. (Which we’re pretty proud of if we do say so ourselves.)
What does the future of GBAM hold? Who knows! The sky is truly the limit. But our goal is always to serve you. We are your locally focused parenting resource for the Green Bay and Appleton areas! We are here to provide you with the resources and fun you need to get through this thing called motherhood.
