We are highlighting those we think may be of most interest to families in the Green Bay and surrounding areas. If you have suggestions or additions, please leave a comment! things to do this october 2017October 1-30 :: Dairy View Corn Maze in Sturgeon Bay. Opens daily  at 10 am. Access to maze ends at 3 pm. $7/person. 3 and under are free.

October 1 :: Craft Show, 10 am – 3 pm. Pulaski Middle School.

October 1 :: St. Luke’s Fall Festival in Little Chute. 11 am – 3 pm. A family-friendly event for the entire community. Arcade games, music, food truck, Mikey Air, face painting and children’s games and so much more.

October 3 ::  Randall Cobb Football 101 Women’s Clinic, 6:30-10 pm at the Sports Emporium, De Pere. Perfect night out with the girls. Ticket includes light appetizers and 2 cocktails. October 7, 8 :: Pumpkin Patch Festival, Egg Harbor. Perfect excuse to take a drive to Door County! Free admission. Live music, carnival rides, arts & crafts vendors, face painting, pumpkin & scarecrow displays, roaming magician, kids games & activities, silent auction, food and fun!

October 7 :: Festival Pumpkin Blowout. 8 am – 5 pm. Children’s activities from 9 am – 3 pm. Check out the website for location specific activities.

October 7 :: Bellin Women’s Half Marathon. 8 am.

October 7 :: Pink Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk. NWTC, Green Bay. 8 am – Noon.

October 7 :: Bay Beach Craft Show. 9 am – 3 pm. 

October 7 :: Spooktacular, Lambeau Field. 9 am – 3 pm. FREE. Enjoy music, juggling, family fun challenges and balloon animals. Children also will have the opportunity to have their faces painted, play fall-themed games and put their artistic skills to work at Halloween-themed craft stations. Donations to Coat for Kids appreciated.

October 7 :: Fox Valley’s Tough Kid Challenge, Highlands Elementary. A 1.6 to 2 mile obstacle course with kid-friendly yet challenging obstacles. For all kids age 6 through 13 years of age.

October 7 :: Sanctuary by Starlight, Wildlife Sanctuary, 6-10 pm. Lighted waterfalls, luminaries on the boardwalk, viewing telescopes. Food from Skaligwags, music, and cash bar. $30/person includes food and entry.

October 7 :: NE Wisconsin Craft Beer Festival. Resch Center. 6-9 pm. Sample beer, enjoy live music and light appetizers.

October 7 :: Kidz Nite Out, Starz Academy.  Open to those ages 5-18. Enjoy open gym, games and snacks. $15 for first child and $10 for each additional. 6-8:45 pm.

October 8 :: Sensory Day, Sky Zone Appleton. 10 am – 12 pm. A time for those with special needs to jump. $10 to jump.

October 8 :: Little Chute Fire Department Open House. Noon – 3 pm.

October 8, 29 :: Terror on the Fox, Kids Day, Green Bay. $5/Child. Noon- 4 pm.

October 10 :: Y100 Bra Country 2017 at the Meyer Theater, Green Bay. This event raises money for Breast Cancer Research. Featured performers are country singer Granger Smith and band High Valley. $30/ticket.

October 11 :: The Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream Pumpkin Carving, New Zoo. 4-8 pm. This is event is FREE. Bring your own pumpkin and carving tools. Those who participate will receive free pizza and soda. The pumpkins will be used as decorations for the North Shore Bank Zoo Boo 2017.

October 13, 14, 20 :: Autumn Night Hike, L.H. Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve. 7-9 pm. Learn more about the creature that come alive at night. Stay afterwards for a campfire, hayride, and treats. $3/child, $5/adult, or $15/family.

October 13, 14, 15 :: Jurassic Quest, Shopko Hall. Come enjoy a dinosaur adventure. Indoor and outdoor activities. Tickets $18-$34.

October 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 :: Zoo Boo 2017, NEW Zoo. $10/person advance or $12/person at the door. Under 2 FREE. Dress in your costume and those under 16 trick-or-treat (bring your own bags/buckets). Check website for details on activities specific to the day you plan on attending.

October 14 :: The Third Annual Walk to Remember hostedy by Share of NE Wisconsin: Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support. Wildlife Sanctuary. 10 am – Noon.

October 14, 21 :: The Great Pumpkin Train, The National Railroad Museum. Music, games, and pumpkins! Tickets $12-$13.

October 19, 20, 21 :: October Fright Night at Marcus Cinema. The Exorcist is the featured movie. 10 pm showing. Admission $5. Bay Park and Valley Grand Theaters.

October 20 :: Totally Boo-dacious Halloween Party, Fusion Athletics, Green Bay. 6-8 pm. Intended for ages 5-12. Put on your costume and enjoy games, contests, and food. $10.

October 21, 22 :: Zooloween Boo, Menominee Park Zoo (Oshkosh). Trick-or-Treating provided by local businesses. Enjoy fun games, crafts, costume contests and more! Under 1 FREE. Children 2+ $3, and adults $5. 11 am – 3 pm.

October 21 :: Fall Craft Fair, Victor Haen Elementary School, Kaukauna. 9 am – 2 pm.

October 21 :: 23rd Annual Craft Sale, St Grabriel Church (Neenah). 9 am – 2 pm.

October 21 :: Trick or Treat Costume Party @ Marcus Cinema. Trick-or-Treating in the theatre plus more fun activities! 9 a.m. before the showing of Shrek.

October 21 :: Trick or Treat Trail, Josten Park (Belleveue). Pre-registration is required for this FREE event. 10 am – Noon.

October 21 :: Halloween at Heritage Hill, Green Bay. 3- 8pm. Games, marshmallow roasting, trick-or-treating. $7/person. 3 and under FREE.

October 21 :: Romp in Autumn Swamp, Bubolz Nature Preserve, Appleton.  Visitors will enjoy tractor hay rides, trick-or-treat trail, face painting, Halloween games, costume contest, and a bonfire with s’more making. Popcorn and beverages will be available for purchase. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged! Must registers to attend.$10/child, $5/adult, $35/family.

October 21, 28 :: Halloween at the Y  (various locations), Green Bay.  You can find a Halloween themed celebration at each of the Ys. Check out website for dates, times, and activities. Geared toward kids 10 and under.

October 21 :: Halloween Camground Walk, High Cliff State Park. 4-8 pm. Walk and enjoy the decorated camp sites. Concessions available.

October 21 :: Annual Halloween Event, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.  Put on your costumes and enjoy a pumpkin lit walk. Kids will learn about animals from area youth dressed up as animal characters. $2.50/child & $3.75/adult. 6-8 pm.

October 21 :: Nerf Night, Fusion Athletics. Darts and goggles are provided. Participants must bring their own nerf gun. Ages 5-13. $15.  6:30-8:30 pm.

October 24 :: Fall Frolic, 1000 Islands Environmental Center. Co-hosted by Kaukauna Public Library. Enjoy stories, crafts, hiking and hot cocoa. 6-7 pm.

October 25 :: Halloween Skate, Appleton Family Ice Center. Skating, costume contests, crafts, and more. Admission $5. Skate rental $3.  4-6 pm.

October 25 :: Costume Party, Kaukauna Public Library. Preschool costume dance party! How fun for the littles. 6-6:45 pm.

October 25 :: Champions of Magic, Weidner Center. Lover of magic? Then this is for you! Be amazed by five world-class illusionists. Tickets start at $30. 7:30 pm.

October 26 :: Once Upon a Halloween, Children’s Museum of Green Bay. Come in costumes for an evening of STEM based science workshops, games and fun! 4-7 pm.

October 26 :: Halloween Bash, Boys and Girls Club (Oshkosh). Family event. Enjoy games, pumpkin carving, and a meal. 6-8 pm.

October 26 :: Great Country Pumpkin Party, Appleton. This event is for children with special needs and their families. The event provides a safe & fun environment for children with special needs to trick-or-treat. Country Inn & Suites and Hampton Inn provide rooms for local companies and organizations to decorate and hand out treats to children. Feel free to dress up, but costumes are not required.

October 27 :: Alan Jackson w/ LeAnn Womack. Resch Center. 7:30 pm.

October 28 :: Boofest, Festival Foods locations. Trick-or-treat in-store from 10 am – 2 pm. Treats available for those with allergies.

October 28 :: Thrills on Third, Sturgeon Bay. Come in costume and enjoy pumpkin painting, haunted house with carnival games, “slime at the library,” trick-or-treating and more!

October 28 :: Doc’s Halloween Extravaganza, Doc’s Harley Davidson (Hwy 29). 11 ma -3 pm. FREE fun for the kids! Trick-or-Treat, Hayride, games and crafts, and music.

October 28 :: The Fab Four – The Ultimate Tribute, The Meyer Theatre. Enjoy a night of listening to The Beatles! Tickets $35. 8 pm.

October 31 :: The Little Mermaid, Fox Cities PAC. The Disney C=classic is brought to life. 7:30 pm

Ruth
Ruth was born in Green Bay and lived in the area until venturing off to UW Madison for college.  Her education led her to a life in retail.  Retail took her to Milwaukee, Charlotte, NC, and, eventually, back to Green Bay.  In 2014 she decided to pause her career to help her husband build his CPA firm.  Ruth & Chris reside in De Pere with their four children, Smith, Tess, Burke, & Jack.  As great as Green Bay summers are, Fall is Ruth’s favorite.  She loves the colors, crisp air, and, of course, football.  Ruth enjoys hanging out with the fam, reading up on the latest fashion, & savoring a nice glass of cabernet.
